Q: Can I get a virus with BearFlix? A: It is recommended that you use a virus scanning program with updated definitions whenever you download anything from the Internet, especially from unknown sources. This applies to BearFlix as well. There is no centralized server of any kind, it is users connecting to users so we can't guarantee that your downloads will be virus free. However, in the Db folder of your BearFlix directory, there is a file called 'hostiles.txt'. This is a list of hosts that have been blocked by BearFlix. You can manually add hosts to this file while BearFlix is closed.
Q: Can someone access any of my files? A: Other users can only download what BearFlix uploads. BearFlix will only ever upload files selected as being 'Shared' in the library . Do check the library to see which of your files are being shared regulary to make sure nothing personal is being released.
Q: Can anyone see my files/what I'm downloading? A: Users can only see the files you agree to share. If you are sharing a great many files then allowing others to browse your files can use a lot of your bandwidth, disabling this option will save valuable bandwidth and also make it harder for other users to see all of your files. The only way someone can tell what files you are downloading is when you request to download files from them directly.
Q: Can I configure BearFlix to use proxy servers? A: BearFlix does not have support for working with any proxy.
