Q: When I search, why do I not get any results? A: If the status for your search reads 'Queued - Connections stabilizing - Please wait' then you are not connected to the network. If this continues for some time then please consult our Troubleshooting Guide. Make sure you have spelled your search correctly and the Type is what you intended. Enabling the Family Filter or Visual Filter (on the Options page of Setup) will reduce the number of results available to you as will too many filtered extensions (on the Searching page of Setup). BearFlix will stop searching after a certain number of results are found so what you are looking for may get 'drowned out' by other search results. If you have set some advanced search options such as file sizes then BearFlix may be receiving lots of results but not showing them because of the advanced limits.
Q: My search says "Queued", what is it waiting for? A: Sometimes BearFlix will delay searches for the good of the network but the search will also be queued if there are no connections to the network. Check the row of four lights to determine your connection status.
Q: I'm finding a lot of spam, what can I do? A: There is no central server with the Gnutella network, so anyone who wants to share a file can, and BearFlix can not remove them. This means there will be misnamed files, spam, and even viruses. You can do something to fight back! Bitzi is integrated into BearFlix. It lets the community rate files based on quality and content, right click your search results to see if the file you want has any bad ratings. Also if you download something that is spam or is just 'garbage,' please delete it from your computer and don't share it. This way spam will not spread around the network and become an epidemic.
Q: How do I choose the best file to download? A: On the search page there is a Rank column and a Sources column. Files with a high rank (long green bar) or a higher number of sources are more likely to be successful. Also use Bitzi to help guide you further.
Q: I still can't find what I'm looking for. A: If you are not getting any results for a search then try to be more generic. If you are getting lots of results but none of them match then try to be more specific.
