Q: Who should read this BearFlix PRO FAQ section? A: You should read this document if you are an existing BearFlix Pro customer, or if you are thinking about purchasing BearFlix Pro. If you have questions about searching for files, downloading files, sharing files and so on, those answers are found on other BearFlix FAQ sections.
Q: BearFlix Pro is showing me an Order Screen. Why? I have already paid. A: There is a "get a new key" link on that page. Just use that to request a new Key at no charge.
Q: Can BearFlix run side by side with BearShare? A: BearFlix and BearShare can run on the same computer side by side. There is no conflict between the two programs. If you change BearFlix installer defaults make sure that: 1) you install BearFlix in a different folder than BearShare. 2) you setup the downloads temporary folder to a different one than BearShare's. You will encounter problems if you install BearShare and BearFlix on the same folder. If installed on different folders both programs would run side by side smoothly.
Q: How can I install BearFlix on a computer running BearShare? A: BearFlix and BearShare can run on the same computer side by side. There is no conflict between the two programs. Q: I am having problems with BearFlix Pro. A: Whatever the problem is, the first step is to upgrade your BearFlix Pro to the latest version and see if that solves the problem. If you have upgraded and there are still difficulties then read on. If after reading on you can not solve the problem please contact us for further assistance
Q: I have upgraded and I am still having problems. A: If your question is not answered on this page, please contact us and we will be glad to help you.
Q: I am trying to paste in the new key you just sent me but the program will not activate. A: Please try the following steps.
1. Close BearFlix Pro (if it is open)
2. Launch the BearFlix Pro program
3. Click the "get a new key" link , and then the "enter the key" link
4. Put in the Full Name and Key using Copy and Paste (Ctrl-C and Ctrl-V). Make sure that both values are complete, and not missing any characters at the beginning or end.
5. Click the button
6. The program should activate. You will know it is activated if the search/uploads/downloads pages are working.
A common reason that the program did not activate is that you entered the Name or Key only partially. Make sure that they are complete. Another thing to keep in mind is that a key will only work on a single PC which is the PC from where the key was requested. If you go to a second computer, you have to "get a new key" again from scratch for that second computer.
Q: I am a new customer. How do I get a new key? A: If you are a new customer, you should install the latest version of BearFlix Pro and fill out the purchase order form. This will allow you to purchase and activate the program.
Q: I am a current customer. How do I get a new key? A: Upgrading is free if you have already purchased BearFlix Pro and it does not ask you for a new key. The only times that you might need a new key are when you install BearFlix Pro on a brand new computer, change your existing computer hardware configuration, or reformat your hard drive. In these cases (or in any case where your program has become deactivated for some reason) you can simply run BearFlix Pro, click the "get a new key" link and request a new key. You will be prompted to enter an email address. Make sure to enter the same email that you used when you first purchased the program. A new key will be emailed to you automatically.
Q: I am a current customer. Can I install BearFlix Pro on a second computer? A: Yes. However, you will need a new key for this. Here is what you have to do: Go to that second computer and install BearFlix Pro. Run it. Click the hyperlink to "get a new key" in order to request a new key for this computer. There is no charge for this.
Q: I have to reformat my hard drive. How will I get BearFlix Pro working again after that? A: After your computer is up and running again, download and install BearFlix Pro. When you run it, a purchase screen will appear. On the purchase screen, click the "get a new key" link. Current customers can get a new key for free.
